True Confidence
By Victoria Osteen - Jan 06, 2015

What gives you confidence? What gives you strength? Hope? Encouragement? Some people find confidence in a relationship. When the relationship is going well, they are going well. But if there is a problem in that relationship, they are shaken. Some people find confidence in their job. But if things are not going well in the workplace, it rattles them to the core. Nowadays, some people find their confidence in social media! If they get enough "likes" on their post, it makes them feel good for the day. But God doesn't want our confidence to be dependent on any earthly thing. He wants to give you confidence that is stable; confidence that can't be shaken by circumstances or the opinions of others. He wants you to be so secure in Him that nothing can throw you off course!

When we put our trust in Him, that's when true confidence begins. But many people have a difficult time trusting God because they think God is mad at them, or they don't know if God is that interested in their issues. But always remember—God's not mad at you; He's madly in love with you! He cares about the number of hairs on your head, and He cares about everything that concerns you.

Realize today that God is looking at you with good eyes, sweet eyes, loving eyes. He's not looking at what you've done wrong; He's looking at what you're doing right. Not only is He the God of love, He IS love and His arms are stretched out toward you today. Why don't you take a moment and let that truth sink down into your heart. When you begin to really understand the way God sees you, it will affect your confidence in a whole new way.

Today, throw your shoulders back and have confidence in God's love. Choose to trust Him. Choose to lean on Him because He's for you. He's not against you, and He is ready to lead you into victory in every area of your life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart… (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)
