Hold on to the Promises
By Victoria Osteen - Aug 04, 2015

God wants to do some amazing things in your life! As believers, if we are going to see God's plan unfold in our lives, we have to do our part and stand strong in faith, believing and expecting Him to act on our behalf while we are waiting to see them come to pass.

In Romans, it says that Abraham was strengthened in his faith as he held on to the promises of God. Think about that for a moment. Abraham, the father or our faith, had to wait to see the promises of God fulfilled. But he didn't give up. He didn't shrink back. He didn't understand it all but he held on to the promises and supernaturally became stronger and stronger.

God doesn't want us to become weaker while we are waiting on Him. He doesn't want us to be worn down and exhausted wondering when He is going to come through for us. No, He wants us to become stronger. He wants us to be empowered through Him, however, we have to make the choice to wait the right way. When we wait the right way by holding on to the promises of God, we are strengthened and secure in faith. How do we hold on to the promises? By meditating on them; by speaking them; by thanking God for them; by reading and declaring the scriptures.

Today, make the decision to hold on to the promises of God. Set your mind on His goodness. Believe that He wants to bless you. Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart. Embrace His promises in your heart and find strength to receive the victory and blessing He has in store for you!

"No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was counted to him as righteousness" (Romans 4:20-22, ESV)
